We are pleased to announce that the wonderful Betty Dargie of Dargie Entertainment, will be an adjudicator
from Friday through to Sunday. Betty brings an absolute wealth of talent and experience to our eisteddfod
and we are enormously proud to have her onboard.
Betty Dargie is third generation showbiz. Firstly with her grandfather, the renowned Horrie Dargie (Horrie Dargie Quintet, Australia’s first Gold record earner), her grandmother Betty (Tivoli Ballet star), their daughters Anne and Lynne Dargie (Australia’s most loved sister act ‘The Dargie Sisters’) and now the third generation continues the dynasty.
Betty is a MO Award winning international entertainer.
She is a highly-sought after singer, dancer, model, choreographer, producer and character impersonator.
We took the time to find out some of the things that Betty looks for
when judging eisteddfods:
What do you look for in every performance?
I look for a combination of good technique and artistry.
I want to see a well-polished routine that has a good connection to the audience.
What makes a winning performance?
Everything I mentioned above and an extra special intangible element that leaves
the audience wanting more.
What matters the most to a routine, performance or technique?
A combination of the two.
How important to you is good grooming?
Very Important!! Please use hairspray on those fly aways.
What is the most embarrassing thing to happen to you onstage?
I’m going to say costume malfunctions and leave it at that!
